Goodwill Opens Two New Lakeland Donation Centers

Clearing your clutter benefits you and some special Polk County residents, too!

LAKELAND, FLA. — Cleaning out closets? Clearing clutter from your garage? Area residents now have two convenient new locations to drop off clothing and household items in good condition.

Goodwill Attended Donation Centers are now open in the parking lots of Lakeland Highlands Plaza at 2900 Lakeland Highlands Rd. and Imperial Christina Plaza at 6902 S. Florida Avenue in Lakeland. Goodwill also accepts donations at the convenient drive-through donation lane at the Goodwill Superstore, 5411 S. Florida Ave.

Donated items are sold in three Polk County Goodwill stores, with the proceeds helping to support Goodwill’s training and employment programs for Polk County residents who have developmental disabilities. Donations are tax-deductible, subject to IRS regulations.

The new donation centers are staffed by Goodwill attendants from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, including Sundays. Donors are asked to bring donations only between those hours. Goodwill needs clothing in like-new or very good condition, jewelry, housewares, furniture, books, toys, and small electronics.

Goodwill cannot accept large furniture items at the donation centers due to limited space. Furniture in good condition and other gently used donations are gladly accepted at the Goodwill Superstore. Items that Goodwill cannot accept include televisions, computers, sofabeds and mattresses.

Please visit and click on the Donations link for more information about donating to Goodwill, including maps of donation site locations; how to estimate donation values for tax deduction purposes; a complete list of items that Goodwill cannot accept; and information about Goodwill services in Polk County.
